What is the reason for a different format for IDs in African Oral Histories?
When viewing Oral History 'transcriptions' into tree format, the IDs for the individuals is different from the norm and when copying them and pasting into the FIND by ID it reverts to a different number.
For example: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/2:2:3CW5-4NC?lang=en
Akosua SerwaaFemale1900-•2:2:3CW5-WL3
When copied and pasted into Find by ID, it will format as 223C-W5WL and message No Results Found https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/tree/results?q.personId=3CW5-WL5

@annekratzer This data is a FamilySearch Genealogy, a completely separate data set from Family Tree, with no connection between the two. If you want to get the data into FT (or to find an existing FT entry) you will need to use the surname, given name, etc. You can then attach this Genealogy entry as a source in FT. If you need more detail on any of this, please post again.

Just to add a little bit of unnecessary explanatory detail, what you are seeing is the difference between a historical record ID number and a Family Tree profile ID number. You will find the same difference with any historical record source and a person's profile in Family Tree.
This is a historical record: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:687H-DTRW?lang=en
ark: means that this is a permanent archival link.
This is the Family Tree profile for the person in that historical record source: https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/GZXL-2RS
While the basic ID numbers have similar formats, the entire link has a very different format.
Regarding what happens where you try to paste a record ID into the profile ID spot in Find, it looks like the Find routine is just trying to do its best to turn something that is not a profile ID into one.
