Looking for Birth Record – Fatmeh Ali Hassan, Born 1919 in Limassol, Cyprus

Hello,
I am trying to find the birth certificate or civil record of my great-grandmother:
- Name at birth: Fatmeh Ali Hassan
- Born: around 1919, possibly in or near Limassol, Cyprus
- Later name: Salema (after moving to Palestine)
- Married: Juma Mousa Shihada Abed (Palestinian)
- Moved to Palestine: around 1935
- She is now deceased
- I am her great-grandson, living in Ramallah, Palestine
We do not have any original Cyprus documents, only Palestinian records stating she was born in Cyprus. I already contacted the Limassol District Office and Cyprus Civil Registry but haven’t received a reply yet.
❓I would appreciate any help or advice on how to:
- Locate or request this record from abroad
- Contact the correct district office or archives
- Register her birth if no record is found
Thank you very much in advance!
Best regards,

I would suggest moving this discussion possibly over to the Arab Ancestry Community group for some assistance. I ran the names through several Genealogical sites and was not able to come up with any information. It is possible if your relatives were considered Arabs this site may be beneficial.

I am not connected with FamilySearch
There is a FamilySearch Wiki page Cyprus Civil Registration https://www.familysearch.org/en/wiki/Cyprus_Civil_Registration
I am not familiar with Cyprus, other than knowing the British were in charge around 1919 and there would be a record there, the problem is accessing it. I do know some countries will not respond to emails, either because they do not have sufficient staff, or they feel you should enquire personally, or they are in a country whether it is traditional for money to exchange hands (a bribe), to facilitate a record.
If you have already contacted all the emails given on the FamilySearch Wiki page, and there has been no response, I think your only options would be for you to visit Cyprus itself and apply for the birth record, or attempt to arrange for someone in Cyprus to do this on your behalf. Perhaps the Cyprus Government Tourism website might be more used to replying to queries https://www.visitcyprus.com

Edit: When I say there would be a record there, there would have been a record there originally. There is always the possibility a record no longer survives, due to multiple reasons such as insects, floods, war , fire etc.
