Why is Unwanted and unrequested data being copied from FamilySearch into Ancestry?
I maintained a parallet family tree in Ancestry to serve as backup when contributors make incorrect changes to the FamilySearch family tree. A few weeks ago I noticed that when I comparied trees in Ancestry, multiple copies of a persons death record were copied to EVERY person's record bAncestry. I've spent several hours with Ancestry customer service talking to offshore people that I have difficulty understanding. It has become clearly evident that no one at Ancestry know much about FamilySearh. I know of no liaison that can help with data transfer issues. Ancestry phone agents blame the problem on FamilySearch. I don't believe them. Has anyone else confronted this type of issue? If so, what did you do about it? Can anything be done?
Thanks!

Hello, would it be possible to provide some more information please.
a) How are you syncing your Ancestry tree from your part of the collaborative FS Family Tree? Manually, via a third party application such as RootsMagic etc., or in some other way?
b) Can you provide the PID for the FamilySearch profile involved, and indicate which is the problem source, please? (I'm assuming the person is deceased.)
c) Obviously your Ancestry tree is specific to you. Are these unwanted changes appearing only in your Ancestry tree, or in other people's Ancestry trees as well? (The latter situation is entirely normal, since other people are likely to spot and sync FS Family Tree changes just as you are, I'm just trying to get a better picture.)
d) If there is a public Ancestry tree, yours or someone else's, that shows the problem, please provide a link to it, with examples of the additional deceased individuals in it that are affected, plus their corresponding FS Family Tree profiles (I do not have an Ancestry account, but many Community members do). If the information is only in a private Ancestry tree, it would still help if you identified the relevant FS Family Tree profiles.
Hopefully people here may then be able to help.

In addition to Mandy's questions, it would be useful to know if you have invited any family members or close friends at editor or contributor status to your Ancestry tree @Dean, Barton David.

A further question @Dean, Barton David - what do you see when you check the "Activity" log on your Ancestry tree? This snip shows the most recent changes on this tree - all I made. But, I can scroll back several years to see if anyone else I've invited has made a change.
