Tell me, is it common to find a certain name on several of the documents

so I have been researching my family history for about 3 years and I have been pretty impressed with the results from this site. I have been able to find a lot of interesting information on some of my family lines. I have even started to learn more about the various types of records and related information that has been added to my individual family tree. I have to say that at first started to see some information about some of my relatives and family on my family tree, I have to say I wasn’t very happy about it. I have since learned more about the information and I have also been able to learn even more information about their history from the information. I know that the family search app that I am currently working on my tree is very useful but I have been trying very hard to find more then military related information about my great grandfather and he is the only person who I have been hitting some very big brick walls and I have been following the tips on how I can find some information about him. I have been on line google search history hub and I have also done my own personal records dive and I have been able to find some information but I’m not 100%sure how accurate this information is. Since when I started with this hole thing I started out first of course asking my dad and he said that he would say that I should talk with his older sister about it and that is what I did. But before I could I was on the other site ancestry DNA I had gotten a good sounding noise from my account and I was basically thought I had been lied to about my own identity for what I saw was that my grandfather Charles Sydney Shannon had been changed now his name had a extra surname added to it and it was the surname of Gaston so that was it I called my aunt who told me that my great grandfather had changed his last names because he had gotten into trouble and that this why I was seeing it on my grandfathers Shannon’s profile. But I was just curious about the collection part of this app and or any of them. Because I like I said before been struggling with his name change and I’ve looked into both names but until recently I was just kept coming up with my searches on these collections until I found a court document that had my great grandfather name on it and the surname was that of Gaston and so I immediately started to look at the documents and I was getting excited about it because it looked like it also had the names of my grandfather and his little brother on it to but I lost my excitement because he had died in the state of Illinois in the city of Chicago and my aunt said that it was cook county. So that court documents were not in the same state the records said that the court case about the estate of Lee Andrew Gaston was in the state of Texas and I believe that there was a county but I can’t remember which one it was. So now I come back to now and I just found a collection on here for a Lee Shannon the documents was a tax assessment and this was in the state of Texas to and I saw that it says that the county was that of brown county Texas and I again started getting excited about it. I thought of one of those tips on that you should always cross reference records against the information that you have and found out to my disappointment that the name appears on several different pages of the collection of this topic and that makes me wonder how accurate are any of those collections. So I decided that I just going to go to my aunt who said that she has been able to access all of Lee Gaston military records and that I am going to see if she be willing to share them with me and email them to me. So at least I can add them to his profile on my tree so that he is not only person who has no other family members then my great grandmother who is just as much as a confusing person. She was born someone totally different than the person who died. But that is another story and apparently I was very confused and surprised that even her younger grandchildren never had any idea what they knew her by actually wasn’t her given name at the time of her birth and I was very surprised I also heard my own father and uncle call her their own grandmother a slut. I guess I really didn’t truly ask a question but just wanted to tell you all a little story. Thank you if you actually read it all and blessed be.
