I started using Family Tree before I was a member of the church. Now that I am a member I have a church account. But all of my family setup is connected to the ID on my personal account. I have tried going into my account settings and changing my church account id to my personal account ID but just errored out and did not save. How can I resolve this?

Hi Chris - As you probably already know, it is not possible to merge the accounts. In your case, you need to decide if one of the accounts can be deleted.

As you state, all the information and work you have done is on your person or public account. If you look at your member account, (the one with your membership number) have you done anything with that account. In others, could it be deleted and you would not lose anything. If so, you can delete your member account. This will then allow you to add your membership number to your personal account which will turn it into a member account. You just need to carefully evaluate if deleting your member account will be okay.

You could also call the help line at 866-406-1830 for help guiding you through this. The hours are 8am to 8pm Monday through Saturday and 1pm to 8pm on Sunday. All times in Mountain Time.

    Hope this helps.
