Too specific when comparing birth information

In many censuses, only an age is recorded. When a person is created or their information is changed from a census, this results in a birth year that will probably be different from their actual birth date. I have attached a photo of a recent merge in which this was an issue. In comparing this person's specific birth date (5 August 1909) with his census-derived birth year (1910), they can be considered to be the same. I think the system should not flag a birth date inconsistency when only a year is given for one or more of the potential duplicates, unless the dates are at least two years apart.

Censuses are notoriously inaccurate if a researcher is looking for specific information—even if the census taker was alert and made no mistakes, and assuming the people in each family told the exact truth!

I was unable to see the photo I tried to attach, after trying with two image formats (PNG and JPEG).

@DeneneWilcoxWard Community is having an issue with the attach button in discussions. However, you can drag the file right into the box, or you can copy and paste the image right into the discussion box. Either should work.
