Ancestry links

This one is coming up unavailable for non-Ancestry-member me, while the others quoted come up with an Ancestry login screen.
cgi-bin is suspiciously old technology, does this link work for anyone at all, or has it just been lurking, broken, in Ancestry and/or FS for a while?
External links in FS sources are always going to be susceptible to link rot (as indeed are internal ones, though those are more predictable as there's usually a contractual reason, e.g. the recent kerfuffle over Peruvian records). I imagine the same applies to both external and internal sources held within Ancestry.

@jerroleensorensen1 Can you give us an ID for a person with one of these links? That would help us investigate further what might be going on.

I think, because Ancestry is a paid site and some people on here (a free site) do not have an account on the paid one, and so can not see the source that is linked. If a source is posted on here it should be facts spelled out on here and not a link to a site that has to be paid for to see. I hope this helps!

@Calliej27 I don't think that is the issue in this case, since it is the same user attaching the source and then trying to view the source.
@jerroleensorensen1 From your comment, do I understand that you are using an Ancestry partner account, as a member of the LDS Church? The system works differently for members of the church.

Here's an example:
Jessie Shaw (1900–1997) • Person • Family Tree
It isn't just a link. I changed the GRO ones from Unsourced Citation, but the other links also won't go through. I am at the BYU Center and am using the BYU ancestry, but they are not going through. It never used to happen that way.

This is one I added some years ago the same way (through Ancestry), it will go to the source, no problem.

I wonder if it has something to do with the way they are added. When I added a source from ancestry.com manually, instead of transferring it through the "compare" feature, the link opened right up.

Seems like the interface needs updating or something.

Hmm. I'm noticing now that some will open and others will not. Weird. This was transferred just now.

If the source that was found on Ancestry was a source that could only be viewed when you are in a FHC then you will not be able to see that source when you are not in a FHC even if you did copy the link. You need to copy and past the information.

Thanks, @Quint Hurst, but it seems clear that the problem is the actual link information/structure and not where it can be viewed. Thanks, @MandyShaw1. That makes the most sense to me. If FamilySearch can communicate this problem to Ancestry and work it out with their IT people, it would be great.

@jerroleensorensen1
The problem is not with Ancestry. The internet in the church must be configured correctly.

@Quint Hurst Based on the examples that jerroleensorensen1 has shared, the issue is NOT with the internet access.

When I am signed into my Ancestry account (an Ancestry partner account through the Church of Jesus Christ), I am able to see every single source referenced in this thread, including every source attached to Jessie Shaw.
None of these sources are FamilySearch sources; they are all links on ancestry.com. So Áine Ní Donnghaile is definitely correct that any problems have nothing to with Internet access.
Even though some of the links use the older cgi-bin technology, Ancestry tries very hard to properly redirect such URLs, and indeed they all work for me.
Of course, people without an Ancestry account, or perhaps those with a different type of account from mine, might have some challenges with these links to Ancestry records.

Thanks, all. As it is only certain links (i.e., the GRO), it may have something to do with their contract with that entity.
