How can I correct a date?
How can I correct a date? I know this year should be 1988 but it has been indexed as 1888?

The year part of the burial is just "88", so it will, I believe, have been indexed like that to start with. In the same way that there is a place standardisation algorithm, there is one for dates as well. Unfortunately, the algorithm (not the indexer) has decided that 88 means 1888.
@SerraNola - is this one for you? Assuming my theory is right...
What's really weird is that to get the Estimated Birth Year of 1908, that part of the logic must have been working with 1988 for the burial year. I have a feeling this is not the first time I've seen bits working at cross purposes.
PS - sorry, I don't know how to correct the record, I'm afraid.

That's actually a great help! Thanks Adrian! I think I follow your logic.
My assumption was that there should be a way to edit the 1888 but maybe I'll need help doing that?

@Charlie Kranz - I confess that I have no idea how to correct the 14 June 1888 date because I can't see it anywhere, and if I can't see it, I don't know how to correct it…. Confused I am…
Can anyone help with the correction?

@Charlie Kranz The record can be edited, but because the indexing is correct there is nothing to edit:
When only two digits are on the record we are often seeing this error of the date being 100 years off in search results and often in the index details which transfer to Source Linker. Just like with the place standardization errors, we are also tracking the collections with date errors. Thank you for reporting. I will add this one to the list.

Gotcha - my issue was when I went to accept the Record Hint it shows 1888 - as shown here.
