Alternate Relationships?

After I entered my former wife's info (ex wife now deceased) I noticed when I first clicked the "Show Relationship" button I got a relationship of 7th Cousin. This was going back through my Biological Mother, up the line to a common Grandparents. Then it went down the other side to her Grandmother (ex-wife's) Rose Batt and finally to her Mother, Caroline Kaufman, then to my ex-wife.. I shared that with my wife's sister in Colorado. We marveled that we were related before I ever married her sister, Lynne Soule.

Now when I click on the relationship, as I was going to show my Son all I get is "My Wife".

Is there a way to show ALTERNATE RELATIONSHIPS to someone?

Would be nice to be able to see a relationship to someone in our family tree, other than just me, say a grandparent to another grandparent or Uncle/Aunt.

The system will only show the closest relationship. In your example, if you want to see the other relationship, you shoud severe the link between yourself and your former wife. You should then be able to see the other relationship. I suggest you note it or take a screenshot. Once you have done this, you can restore the direct relationship.

There is no way to search only your ancestors in Family Tree. Your best option is likely to be to download your tree into family tree software. There are various programs available that have free versions with the capacity to download your tree from FamilySearch. See Solutions Gallery. You can then search within that program. Not sure there is any way to look just for Jewish people. The record may not be so marked anyway.

    Than you so much Graham!

Is there a way to search for ancestors, specifically those of Jewish culture? Would there be an option in the search for Famous Relatives or some other way like a search "key" ?
