Why, only in this one instance, is a check being made to verify I am a human?

Only when I use my Android-based phone and only when I attempt to open the "Search" category of Community does a message appear saying it is being verified I am a human. Fortunately, I always pass the check!
Sorry to raise such a trivial point, but I am baffled as to why this issue suddenly arises in these specific circumstances - never on my PC and never in any other case (FamilySearch or other websites) when using my phone. Does anyone have an answer that will satisfy my curiosity?

It's an interesting question. I would only share that on my Android phone I can open the Search category of Community with no additional verification prompt. I have no theory as to why this verification step is presented to you and not to me.
Having two data points with differing results makes it hard to establish a trend, so it would be nice to know if others in a similar situation receive (or do not receive) the verification prompt.

I have both an Android phone and an Android tablet. I rarely use my phone for any genealogy research, but I just tried to access the Community search, using Chrome browser on my phone, and I was asked to confirm I'm human. I was not signed in to the Community at the time.
Same circumstances on my Android tablet (Silk browser), and the same results - asked to confirm I'm human.

Thank you for confirming it's not just me that is being verified as a human before being able to continue. As with you, I have not been signed in when this has happened. Even if this partly explains the problem, still the question remains, "Why only with the Search category?"

Thanks, @Áine Ní Donnghaile , for noting the key factor that this happens only when you are signed out. After I added that step, I can confirm that I see the same verification prompt. For me, it also only happens with Search, and I also have no theory about what is special about that category.

Now it's happened for the first time while using my PC. I soon realised why: previously, I have always signed in before using Community on the PC - for once I was not!
