Errors in Tree

I've come across an error in tree, not sure how to proceed as there is very little information on person.

Samuel Kempie 97KK-BYJ seems to be correct, birth certificate confirms this.

However, Janet Thomson 97TF-CP3 is added as his wife, all the information seems to be wrong on this. If they married as stated, Samuel would have been 80 yrs old. Also Janets parents have a different surname.

I'm unable to delete the person or the sources attached, and reluctant at this stage to begin changing marriage details, parent details, etc.

Any advice would be welcome.

Hi @TeresaKemp7. It appears a few people's records have been jumbled up. Some will definitely need to be detached and relationships removed. I'd advise joining the Scotland Research group and re-posting there to sort this out.

@TeresaKemp7 As you start to 'pull the thread' on setting things right when it comes to your particular person of interest. As a kind gesture, try not to just cut loose individuals that may not belong as a relation and make the attempt to find their proper home. Doing that helps others and also limits the possible reintroduction of the same relationship error going forward

Hi, thank you for your reply and advice. I'll definitely do that. Also I might start from re-looking at the offspring of Samuel Kempie and see if I can find further info there. Get a better link established. Thank you again :-)

@Mark McKenzie_1 Hi, thanks for your reply and advice. I've tried adding notes to why I've removed some links, but also have saved them so I can have a proper look to why they were added in the first place, see if I can provide other information. For example, one of the people had been married twice, and therefore had two lots of children, two lots of parents, etc.. becoming all jumbled up. Anyway, good advice from you, will definitely make the attempt to find their proper homes :-)
