Is it just me or is this confusing… last paragraph in Help document for Full Name Review:

  1. Are any of the given names or surnames mentioned anywhere else in the document?
    1. If so, they should be highlighted.
    2. Hover the mouse over the name and click it.
    3. In the transcription pane to the right, click the name and move it to the correct name category.
    4. When you are ready, click Submit.

If you highlight other instances of the name in the document, then new boxes will appear to type the names. You can have three of the same given name and three of the same surname. Then in the final step the name is John John John / Smith Smith Smith. If you don't highlight all instances of the name, you'll later find that the system has highlighted it and you can then transcribe it.

Should that instruction be taken out or have I lost my reading comprehension?

This is a good suggestion. I'll send it to the engineers. Thanks for your feedback! It is helping make the Get Involved experience better for everyone.

What do you do if the surname is only partially legible? In indexing we could use an asterisk * to denote multiple letters we couldn't read. This program doesn't allow asterisks.

If the surname is not legible at all, should I just click "Unsure"?

Yes, clicking Unsure will put the highlighted word back into the system for another reviewer
