My grandmother Assunta Monteforte was born in Italy. I think she was adopted?? Looking for any record of her or information you might have. She was born in 6 Aug.1906-1981.

Patty, do you know where she was born in Italy? I'm presuming that she was born in 1906 and died in 1981. Where did she die? Why do you think that she was adopted? Who was she raised by? Is Monteforte her maiden name?

Hi @Patricia Katherine iorg​ I tried to look for Assunta Monteforte born in Italy in 1906 into FamilySearch documents but the result have only two records not matching your grandmother data. @Carolyn Webber​ 's questions are crucial for starting a good research. Regards!

Don't know where she was born? My mother always told me she was adopted. She died in Naples, Italy. Don't even know who she was raised by. Yes, I do believe her maiden name was Monteforte. Thanks for any help you can give me. These Italians are not helping me with my genealogy work.

Thank you for trying to help. I don't have any other information on her as of yet. Still trying to get info from my cousin in Italy, but the language barrier is a little difficult.
