Why are items from the Blog pages suddenly appearing here?

April 26 in General Questions

"System" has recently been placing items from the Blog under General Questions. Helpful as these might be, they do not seem appropriate to this category of Community. Perhaps we could be enlightened as to who "System" is in these instances and whether this activity has been approved by Community management.

Good morning Paul. From what I've seen, those blog posts only show up in the Community when someone comments on the blog. For example, a user made a comment on the "Julian Dates" blog post on 23 April.

Sadly, sometimes the comments are frivolous or worse. Copying the blog thread to the Community just takes up space.

Thank you for your response, Áine. There is already a "Blog Comments" category here in Community (albeit it's a bit difficult to "navigate"), so I think these items would be better placed there.

    See https://community.familysearch.org/en/categories/blog-comment-other , for example.

The recent placing of the Blog's "New Historical Records" updates under General Questions seems particularly mystifying.

We’re aware of the issue with Blogs being posted in the general Community categories and are working on a fix. In the meantime, please feel free to ignore them. Thank you for your patience!
