Hello Brother Morris!
Did you have specific questions about being the Temple & Family History Leader? OR what did you mean when you were asking to start a thread?Sister Cleverly

Hello Sister Cleverly,
Yes I do have many items I would like to address surrounding my calling and would like to have a thread to park them on for some valuable feedback.
Thank you
Brother Morris

@Perry Alan Morris Well, you have started a thread. We're posting in it. So you could go ahead and ask a particular question in this thread, and group members will be able to give responses.
However, one thread covering multiple questions can get unwieldy, since the answers might not remain grouped with the questions. It generally works better to ask one question in the group (like the one you began this thread with "Please start a thread with me"). Then that question will begin a new thread where the responses will be cleanly grouped with the question. This is consistent with item 6 in the FamilySearch Community Code of Conduct, which says "If you need to change topics, begin a new post."

Understood thank you for engaging me on this request. I will start parking one Item at a time.
Thank you so much

New Question: How do you all get funding to run your individual FamilySearch Centers? What I mean is do you have a budget to order supplies and put on booster events to encourage members to get involved in the work.
Thank you
Brother Morris

The FHC is funded by the Stake regardless of where in the Stake the FHC is located.

You should probably reach out to your high councilor over family history and ask if the stake has designated a budget category for your FamilySearch Center. If they haven't, they definitely should. Budgets are done on the calendar year and you should be prepared to turn in a requested budget at the end of this year. Operating costs for the FSC are shared between 3 entities - the Stake FSC budget (paper, pencils, printer toner (FS automatically sends it when low), office supplies, and privately purchased equipment, etc), Facilities Maintenance (room structure, lighting, paint, desks, etc), and FamilySearch (computers, printers, chairs, etc). Hopefully I have those lists correct - I couldn't find the information I've seen in the past but you could call FamilySearch (if you're in North America 866.406.1830, option 5) to ask about it. Your budget is only for those items that fall under the Stake's expenses, and any other printed materials or family history events you want to host. Hope that helps a bit.

@Perry Alan Morris Two suggestions:
- As I suggested above, it works much better to ask a new question in a new thread, using the New Discussion button.
- It would be better to ask questions about FamilySearch Centers in the group that is designed for this purpose: FamilySearch Center Coordinators and Staff
