Issues with new Memory Gallery Viewer
If you have thousands of memories items you can wait a very long time for the gallery to display (various minutes). One used to be able to just immediately click on a specific album - and it would immediately display the album even if the gallery was still not yet displayed - but that is not the case currently. PLEASE allows us to view albums even before the gallery is displayed in full. Otherwise we end up waiting various minutes before we can do anything.
2. Multi Item Select seems to be gone - - PLEASE bring it back. The multi item select is such a time saver - allowing you to take a given action against a whole manually selected group of items.
3. Indicators of which items need tagging - without having to sort / filter is gone. PLEASE bring it back. I realize you can do this with a filter - but why force us to do that - and add more clicks/steps.
4. When you upload a memory - at least for me - it seems to always default to PRIVATE instead of PUBLIC - - this is the opposite to the way it was - and you wont notice unless you are really paying attention.
5. I can filter on items not tagged - but I cant filter on items that ARE tagged (for example - to in-turn move them to a new folder). why are we not allowed to do inverse filters??? (tagged/not tagged. titles/not titled / in album / not in album. )
6. When doing a Memories FIND - why cant we browse thru the results - going directly from one item to the next - rather then having to refresh the entire result set every time. . .
It used to work this way - but not currently.
7. I also notice when you add an item to an album it doesn't place it last on the list like it used to. Not a biggy - but something to be aware of as you work with albums.
8. The larger thumbnail image size - has both pros and cons. Sure would be nice to have a configuration setting to allow users to select their preference of larger or smaller.
9. I wish it was easier to copy the direct url link to an individual memories item to the clipboard. Currently the icon to do that is not obvious and it forces you to go thru THREE mouse clicks to do it. Can we please have a single click direct copy link to clipboard option???(similar to how one can copy the PID to the clipboard)
10. Under the new Select facility - Adding to an Album seems to be totally broke (gives no error but doesn't do what it's supposed to do)
11. When selecting items we used to be able to select the first item - hold down the shift key - and select the last item - and it would select all the items in between automatically) now we are forced to select one by one.
12. It seems currently you can only upload like a max of 5 MEMORIES items or so as part of an single batch upload. We used to be able to upload hundreds of items in a single batch. Please allow us to upload larger batches.
13. The Slideshow option is gone . . .
14. The Re-order option is gone . ..
15. There seems to be no way currently to update the visibility status (private vs public) on more than one item at a time - no group select. changing visibility on items is painfully tedious.

Just a note: FamilySearch engineers take time to provide a quality product. Unfortunately, they will never be able to provide every option requested. They do, however, take note of requests, so we appreciate you bringing these to our attention.

15-Correct. This is not a current option. The only way to mass-establish visibility is when uploading groups of memories. Thank you for sharing this idea. We will add it to our list.

I understand as it refers to any of my comments about things "I wish were a certain way" . .
but the vast extent of my real concerns are where things are just plain broke - or whether some important feature was plain taken away.
I totally understand new options and how that will take time and not every option will be implemented.
But of my posted concerns here and other place about FS - my concerns are mainly on things that are plain broke or non functional .
as to a quality product . . . My experience with how us users end up finding so many of the blatant bugs . . . that should have been caught by a QA group - give me a different persepctive.
especially when I think about so many similar upgrades in the past years that fell into the same situation.
often because some underlying architecture had to be replaced quickly - and FS was in reactive mode and not proactive mode.0 -
as to number #10 - the New Select Facility - when using the action "Add to Album"
it seems to be totally broke

as to album item order.
it used to be that the abum items were ordered in the order that they were added to the album
there are now sort option that allow certain sorting
date added is one them
but this appears to be based on the date the item was added to FS
and not the date it was added to the album.
Not a big deal to me - but for others it might be . . .
