Please provide further information. There can be one or more, or none for each family name depending on where they live, time frame etc. If you have a specific family member that you believe a Coat of Arms belongs to can you provide that information. To start with you can go to FamilySearch: Discovering your Coat of Arms to learn about and how to get started in your search. "

If you have European heritage, you may have a coat of arms or family crest. Unfortunately, they’re rarer than you might think. Most commonly, only nobility or high-class families in medieval Europe had them because they were granted by kings to recognize achievements."

You can search using FamilySearch and other companies that are free and some that charge. Be careful as there is a lot of fraud involving just making up coat of arms. This site looks like a good place to find a lot of information. Search History, Family Crest and Coat of Arms, Hall of names and Surname Crest Search

    Hope some of this helps.

Thank you for your prompt response.

Your information is very useful for my research.

It is believed that the name Reilander is of European origin. Perhaps German or Dutch decent. There is not much information to provide. It is said by one of the Reilander elders that there was "a great fire" that destroyed family archives. Date and place are uncertain.

It was also mentioned that a photograph was taken of family when apparently the spelling of the name Reilander was changed. This makes it more difficult as we do not know now how the original name was spelt as there are many variations.

I know that none of the above helps at all. It seems I will have to pay for further investigation.

    Thanks again
