Access to Records Half Restricted?

So these sets were previously restricted, from home or a family history center. Now I am able to view them, but only some scans show and the others "Image Restricted… Unable to load custodian link". Some of them will say "view at a family history center", but then I refresh and they load. Others are still restricted totally.

Why would this happen? I don't know if they all haven't finished loading on the site or something, since if it was updated to where now they are public, it would have to have been done recently. I just don't see the reasoning behind it.

I hope they are being made public and that it's not an error. Here are the collections I'm talking about: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3Q9M-CS86-QSGS-K?cat=1006963&i=13&lang=en

https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/film/007956284?cat=1006963&i=0

Thanks for any feedback.

    I am not connected with FamilySearch

    The record icons for https://www.familysearch.org/en/search/catalog/1006963 show 5 films "Viewable on home computers"

    If you look at the catalog record the description for 7956284 is

    Battesimi 1908-1910 (indici fino al 1925); Cresime (ordinato secondo la forma italiana del primo nome) 1852, 1868-1882, 1892-1912; Pubblicazioni 1689-1844; Matrimoni 1585-1672, 1680-1738

    I think the wording Battesimi 1908-1910 (indici fino al 1925) is the reason why the record has been restricted. Whether the restrictions on the film, as it presents for viewing, relate to the Indexes to 1925 is unknown

    In the past, if a portion of the microfilm was restricted due to privacy reasons, the whole microfilm was restricted from viewing. I wonder whether this is an attempt just to restrict the portion of the film which needs restricting, but the attempt has been somewhat unsuccessful.

    Perhaps you could write to the FamilySearch Library, email in the following link, note article updated April 21, 2025 (previously there were two possible email addresses, now only one)

    Good morning @NicholasBinot134

    For information regarding Italian records, I suggest you take a look in the Italy Research Group. There have been several recent threads about access changes for Italian records.

    @MaureenE123

    Thanks for that, I will try to email them. I noticed it seemed like certain sets within the microfilm were restricted (what looked like) purposely. But the only thing that confused me was that it would be images in the same set that were restricted and some werent.

    @NicholasBinot134 We've had several reports of this, almost always with Italian record sets. I have shown examples to engineers in Records Data and a work order was created but I have no updates to report. My guess is that it is connected to recent changes in restrictions, but can't say for sure.

    @SerraNola

    Thank you for doing that! That's very appreciated. Hopefully it will be fixed soon.
