Can someone walk me through how to find immigration (not naturalization) records for a man who arrived from Germany before 1900

    @Sandra Gibbs If you want to provide more details, we can perhaps steer you to some specific resources. In general, I have found that elusive immigration records require a broad search to account for name and other errors. That means drilling down into collections. For example, in the search provided by the previous post, click on the "Collections" filter and then in the search box for collection title type in "passenger". Then scroll down and check mark those that might possibly contain the name of your ancestor. Use wildcards if the name is easily misspelled.
