Missing the ability to edit the information on the Surviving Person
Sometimes the Duplicate Person has a more complete date with a less complete location and the Surviving Person has a more complete location and a less complete date. The Source Linker tool allows us to edit the information of the person. If we could edit the information of the Surviving Person in the new merge tool, this would allow us to add the more complete date from the Duplicate Person to the Surviving Person. The Merge Tool does not currently provide that option. As a result we have to remember the information and after the merge, go to the Surviving Person's page and add it. A much more error prone process.

We currently suggest making any edits before or after the merge. We do not plan on allowing editing as part of the merge, as it would make it harder to know what happened during the merge.
