A headstone says someone is 21 years 4 months and 3 days. Is there a calculator that figures that out

@LynetteBrowningWinterton This is actually a lot simpler than it might appear, and is certainly a lot simpler than trying to use a spreadsheet from the built-ins. I spent a long time trying to make a spreadsheet work directly from two dates to produce the result you desire. Whenever it subtracted two dates the result was always presented in days. This led me down the path of trying to work out how many leap years were contained in the interval, which specific months were in the remainder after the years were accounted, etc.

All I really needed to do was subtract the years, subtract the month numbers (or the month +12, then deduct a year) and subtract the days (with maybe another adjustment).

    Example
    Died 27 Mar 1918 aged 23y 5m 11d

    1918-23	= 1895
    3 - 5 = -2 + 12 = 10 ( and subtract a year)
    27 - 11	= 16

    Born 16 Oct 1894

    Verify
    16 + 11 = 27
    Oct 1894 + 5 months = March 1895
    1895 + 23y = 1918

    Example 2
    Died 3 Jan 1915 aged 31y 11m 18d

    1915-31	= 1884
    1-11	= -10 + 12 = 2 Feb ( and subtract a year)
    So far that's Feb 1883
    3 - 18	= -15
15 days before the 1 Feb is 16th Jan
    Born 16 Jan 1883

    Verify
    16 Jan + 18 days is 3 Feb
Feb + 11 months is Jan of the next year
    1883 + 1 + 31 = 1915
    died 3 Jan 1915
