April 1 edited October 28 in Family Tree

My app showed more than 62,000 as of this morning. I've checked almost daily.

All of a sudden as of this morning, All Locations had been truncated to only 4 countries and my Ancestors line had been truncated, wiping out almost everybody on my mother's side. My mother's had more R@R than my father's side. Now less than 500 total.

What happened?

Scanning all of those trees and calculating all of those relationships requires a lot of processing, Why did the number of my relatives decrease.

Why did the number of my relatives decrease?

. If Rootech has so many participants that the system performance slows, Rootstech will reduce the number of generations scanned. This may lower the number of relatives Rootstech shows. Rest assured your data is still preserved in Family Tree. Rootstech is simply calculating fewer relationships because we are scanning fewer generations of Family Tree.

This may be one of the reasons.

That SHOULD NOT happen at all while within 2 months while Relatives at Rootstech is running. This NEVER happened for years. It was just this year alone. Especially they were truncated, kicking out relatives who were living in other countries and not even over 10 generations, truncated many at 5 generations or 8 generations just like that.

What is worse, I had far more relatives in 2024 and NOT truncated. It was almost 100,000.

2025, I had at around 60,000, suddenly truncated about 2 weeks after Rootstech was over to less than 5,000 and one group which was only 6 generations and all of these were descendants of a single couple whose children settled in Utah by 1852. Completely wiped out.

And I contacted my friends in Texas and Florida, theirs were NOT truncated at all, one has exclusive German and other almost 100 percent early settlers of Louisiana and Texas. They had theirs way past 10 generations.
