The one shown in the 1870 census with the Campbell family is recorded as a Doctor. Is this the correct person of interest ?

@shannonhorn Do you have any more details to help identify him in records? I'm sure there are hundreds of men named Charles Goodrich on the east coast in that time period.

Yes, there are hundreds of Charles Goodrich KZQW-R8Q in New York at that time. He died in Oakhill, Volusia Florida in 1888. He married Rebecca Moody in Florida. She was from Georgia.

@shannonhorn
I looked first at the profile of KZQW-R8Q to see what was attached. I was puzzled by the place of birth listed as Huback, NYC. I've been researching NYC for many years, and I've never heard of a neighborhood called Huback.
I then found that the place is said to be listed in Charles' Almshouse records. On Ancestry, those Almshouse records are just an index, but the images, in color, are available on the NYC Archives website. Whenever possible, we want to view the record, not just an index/extract.Charles AKA George Goodrich, admitted 14 December 1834, age 24, was born in Massachusetts, and he was a Seaman. In other words, there is no reference to Hubach. Image 414 of the Admissions, 1834-1835 Register. URL of the register; you'll need to navigate to Image 414 of 637.
And the record would appear not to apply to Charles Goodrich, born New York, as shown in the Army discharge register also attached to the same profile.
