Is there a way when your viewing relationship to not see the relationship to your spouse? My wife and I were 7th cousins before we got married and I would like to see only my relationship to the person I am viewing and many times it shows me the relationship to my wife. Thanks for your help

You could break the link to your wife, check the relationship and then recreate your link. A bit extreme but I am not sure there is any other way.

There is a brief description of how the relationship viewer works in the Help Center article How does the relationship viewer determine how I am related to someone? Here are a couple of quotations from the article that relate to your situation:

    • You can be related to someone else in multiple ways. The calculator displays the shortest relationship path between the two of you.
    • In October 2024, the relationship viewer was enhanced to include relationships through your undivorced spouse’s line.

As Graham said, you could break the link temporarily. You could probably achieve the same result by creating a fake divorce event; that wouldn't involve deleting and recreating your couple relationship. Presumably, your wife is more closely related to the target person than you are.
