What is the source for FamilySearch changes when no sources are given?

FamilySearch is showing my uncle and aunt had a set of twins but I don't know about them. FamilySearch does not show any source for these records; only the statement "Change made by authorized support staff or as part of an update." How do I find out what FamilySearch used as a basis for loading the data in 2012?

If the information is dated 2012, then this was simply an import from New Family Search, the immediate predecessor to Family Tree, on one of the other databases such as the IGI, the Ancestry File, or the Pedigree Resource file. It would have been put one of those places by an ordinary user, not by FamilySearch. There will be no other information available than what is seen in the current profile. But sometimes there are clues there. If you post the profile ID for one of them someone may be able to pick out some of those clues for you.

Most all of the 2012 information Brother Collet is referring to was created by older publicly available microfiche & early indexing databases. That said, you should likely be able to find the source within FamilySearch "Search Records" or Ancestry.com and their record search program.
I like to use both, add in the more complete vitals information found, and then each program will find more and more info on you person.0 -
If this is very recent information, as I assume it is since is it about your uncle, aunt, and a set of cousins you have never heard of, it is most likely from user submitted information and not from any microfilm or indexes.
One of the reasons New Family Search was discontinued and Family Tree developed is that it was far to easy in New Family Search to incorrectly combine families. If you think merges are hazardous in Family Tree, things were far worse in New Family Search. So it is very possible what you are seeing is from a user error in that system.
