Please help w/ changing the gender

I have realized after all this time I had made a mistake and put my Great Grandmother in my Great Grandfather’s place and vise versa and I don’t want to have to delete them as I have added so much stuff and their children and ancestors and such. I don’t realize I had did that til I used one of the family tree designs. Is there anyway I can fix her gender to female and his to male because i definitely don’t want to have to delete them and do all the work over as I have added all their kids, in-laws and such. Please help!!!!

Hi, Yes there is probably a way to do that. However, you didn't provide the PID and names so we can look at the profiles in order to give you specific instructions. If you will reply with that information we would be happy to take a look.

You can change the sex of the two profiles quite simply. There are detailed instructions in the help center article How do I correct the sex listed on a person's record in Family Tree? When you change the first profile's sex, FamilySearch will display a message saying that your change will create a **** relationship; you can ignore that.

Thank you for answering back. I looked she is still a female but she is as where the man would go above the woman and he is still male but where the female would go. And that is fine but when I went to do a family tree design they have her where the grandfather would be or list her as the grandfather on the design and vise versa. I would like her to be where she should be and also him.

You just need to switch the order of the parents. Details are in this article: How do I switch parent or spouse positions to change the display of family lines in Family Tree?

I just went and checked and went to check their genders to fix they are both right but for some reason on my Grandfather she is where the male should be as his Mother and her husband my Great Grandfather is where the female should be. I added all the siblings too and it isn’t like that on them I seen where a lot made changes and did a lot of stuff in recent changes on her because of her 2nd and 3rd husband she had no children with. And redone things like the marriages I even put in for her others marriages which I have proof of in the memories part. I added all of my Grandfathers siblings expect the daughter they raised someone else added her she is not a biological child. My Great Grandparents are Jesse Wright and Lillie May Powell who was also married to a Roy Ray Hodge ( his first name has been spelled both ways in the census I am assuming and her said husband George Blue with a various spellings because where I had put in Blue going by his death index and his marriage record someone changed it which is fine but some how my Great Grandmother and her husband my Great Grandfather got messed up. Again all my Grandfathers siblings I put in are fine no one has made any changes with them. Not sure why they have my Great Grandmother. I can’t help who else she married but I made sure before they was added that I had documents for proof and of course we all know names are spelled wrong and some went by their middle names on documents and well we all know when we are looking at records we are gonna come across dates a little off or names spelled differently and so on we just are that’s a fact. I would like to fix my Great Grandparents back right on my Grandfather. Any help is appreciated

@Tljones Do you know how to click on the profile identifying code to copy it and paste it in your reply here? That way we can see exactly what you are seeing.
Every profile has a unique identifying code. It looks like this:
On the profile of your grandfather or your grandmother, just click on the code with your mouse, and it will be copied so you can just paste it here in your reply. You'll see a pop-up "ID copied."
