We need a new button
I have been doing family records in a small town in France. The records are all in Latin. I began to see many errors, so I began to go through the entire film. In marriages, if the marriage is a second marriage, they would put the name of the deceased previous spouse in the record, it is usually preceded by the word "defuncti" Latin for deceased, and somewhere in that same line it will say "viduus" or "Vidui" (widower or widow. I see many indexers who have entered the name as either the living person's mother or father, which causes all sort of problems with the research. The only option we have at this time is to delete that name from the indexing. When going to add information, there is a button to add a divorced spouse, but not a deceased spouse. The deceased spouse would be very helpful, so that it could be seen that there is probably other children too who could be connected. See the film 008314492, Image #392. There is a record for Josephus Wiederkeller, followed by the name Ursula Ringenbach. This is Joseph's deceased wife, and we can't index her anywhere. How do we get the tech people to add that button?

When you enter the film# there is a "Feedback" button at the bottom of the page that you can see
on this link. Please leave a detailed message of your suggested addition. I don't know how long it will take for the team responsible for Feedback to send it up the line, or when you might see a change, but it will be considered.
