When will the newly digitized early LDS branch record images be available?
For example, the Irchester, Northamptonshire, England branch records are on Digital 4484217. But when I find that # in the cataog, it is only available in SLC FS Library. We used to be able to circulate them on microfilm to the various FS centers. but now they are only available in SLC? Why were they digitized at all if not to give these records a wider availability?
Can anyone with specific knowledge of this collection please answer my question. When will this collection of early LDS branch records be availabe online or at least at the FS Centers. Thanks

All microfilm has been digitized as part of the preservation process. Microfilm is no longer being manufactured, and digitization preserves the records on existing microfilm. It often also improves image quality.
In general, LDS membership records have not been made available from home computers, at least not on public accounts (those not members of the LDS Church).
Although the catalog has received a recent refresh, AFAIK it is not fully updated. In other words, it may not show the most recent information about a specific DGS.

Thanks for your reply, but it did not answer my question.
Neither of these digital numbers work (7903774 or 4484217). I just want to know when we might expect them to be available online or at the FS centers.
Also, what is AFAIK in reference to the Catalog?
Irchester, Northamptonshire, England has two separate listings
1- Record of members, ca. 1837-1858, Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Bedfordshire Conference, published 1959. Record of members

2- Record of members, ca. 1841-1856, published 1953, Includes record of members, 1841-1856; ordinations, 1842-1854; blessings, 1842-1854.

I've given you what I know as it pertains to your query. I am neither Staff nor a Mod of this Community, but FamilySearch does not publicize what records are due to come online.

@Pat Lowe Sorry that we do not have any knowledge about when or if records will be made available. We've had other queries about the inability to access early church records. It appears the decision has been made to restrict them from online viewing and I would not expect that to change in the near future.

Thanks for your answer. I appreciate you taking the time to leave me a message. I did extensive research in one branch years ago, and have found several other branches where my husband's ancestors joined the church, but now live on the other side of country so don't get to the SL library often.
