@erutherford and @Áine Ní Donnghaile —- Please take a look
US—City Directories, 1820–1937 [Part O] [MQRM-92J]
The indexer assumed all the entries with Surname: Hotel to be businesses but acting on a hunch, I checked a few of these names on Ancestry and found that YES there is a real person with Given Name: Edna Surname: Hotel and and at least one Given Name: Templeton Surname: Hotel. An experienced indexer could probably pick out which of these 75-120 entries are real people with few mistakes and without verifying each at Ancestry. So my question is Should I return for re-indexing or do the batch myself on review and trust that whomever picks it up on the next review will not erase my work and miss all these people?
Thanks, Mary

Looking through the rest of the entries, it looks like residences have b (board/er), h (house) or rms (rooms) before the address. The hotel listings do not have these markers and another clue that the listings are of the business, Hotel Alma has an address of 782 and 788 Mass. Ave. Business, no matter if it was a bank or hotel or tavern, would have some kind of combination that included 782 and 788 (ex: 782-88 Mass Ave.), if it took up two or more storefronts.

@erutherfordToday I reread your post and saw all the clues you mentioned so I added the 3 names I had researched then finishing reviewing the remainder of the batch and sent it on its way —- thanks for spotting all those clues — as always you are a big help thanks again and have a good weekend 😊
