Arrangement of Merge Warning Flags
Just to see how many warning flags I could get, I took two random profiles I've worked with and used Merge By ID. I think I got every possible flag. There is an impressive range and variety. I really hope they cut down on bad merges.
However, a thought occurred to me. Usually when merging, I stop scrolling when I get to the sources since they will all be preserved. Instead I just go back to the top of the page and hit merge. But my finger slipped and I scrolled below the sources to find the long list of additional flags such as "Grandfathers different" that I had forgotten was a new feature.
Should those additional flags come first so that they are never overlooked?
Or should they come after the Family Members section and before the sources?
I have to say I am very impressed with this:

Please move this to the Improved Merge Experience group if needed. I was working on commenting on both the Change Log and on Merging and I guess I didn't keep track of which group I was in.
Also, thinking overnight, I think I would like to see the additional family flags come after the section showing parents, spouses, and children. Then the flow would be:
- Personal information.
- Close family information.
- Distant family information.
- Sources.
That seems like the most logical arrangement.

@Gordon Collett
Thanks for your feedback!
We are looking at moving the grandparent issues up above Sources.
When you talk about ordering information do you prefer:
Personal information
Parents
Spouses
Grandparents Issues
Sources
Or:
Personal Information
Spouses
Parents
Grandparents Issues
Sources
Thanks!0 -
I think I like it the way it is now:
- Personal information
- Parents
- Spouses
Just because the parents section is generally quite short and spouses and children can get quite long.
So:
- Personal information
- Parents
- Spouses
- Grandparents Issues
- Sources
