I had a Stake Meeting to work on Indexing training and there was nothing to index except one hard item, What happened, I had a large group to train and were interested and nothing to do……not a great evening.

It looks like most indexing is going away and is being done by AI. We can do name review under Get Involved on the indexing page, which reviews names indexed by AI.

Noticing this too. Yearly I teach a Genealogy Merit Badge class and I show the scouts how to do indexing and transcribing. I was lucky this year that there were City Directories and Naturalization Records to index. But, every single one of the scouts preferred 'Quick Name Review' to Indexing. Me….give me a good city directory :).

If you are teaching about indexing, you might want to consider teaching about Get Involved opportunities. As has been stated already, Get Involved are indexing projects where the first step has been done by a computer and we are reviewing what the computer has done.
As @Lawanna Dalley Casto experienced, kids especially love these projects. They are super easy and most can be done from a mobile device.
Most of the opportunities also have projects specific to South American countries, and also have English projects. And many collections are being added all the time.
