Result of the merge:

The christening information is gone! And the death information, which I could neither pick nor refuse, did not transfer over.

The merge analysis page confirms something went awry:

I merged and unmerged twice and then merged a third time and got the same result every time.

I am not going to do any further editing so that if a programmer wants to just unmerge these and then remerge while tracking what is happening, that can be done.

Also, I noticed something funny with the unmerging but will report on that in another post.

When I went back to look at what looked to be a problem in the Merge Analysis view, it had fixed itself. It had to do with unmerging and where sources ended up but it looks like this is fine.

Arrg! With all the merging and unmerging I was doing I got my post confused. I actually did a fourth merge but incorrectly picked the wrong brother and had to undo that merge. But then put the wrong link in the post. The actual surviving person is: https://www.familysearch.org/en/tree/person/details/GPNY-319

I checked back this morning incase this was just a server synchronization problem, but the christening information and death information that were originally on the surviving and deleted profiles respectively are still missing on the post-merge surviving profile.

I am checking the merge view after each merge I do to make sure vital information is transferring correctly. Here is another one where it did not:

Here I choose too keep the birth information on the left. Both the christening and death information were greyed out so I could not choose not to keep them. This example I have gone back and re-added the information since I am in the middle of a bunch of merges for a family I am working on.

I hope you can find some pattern to these:

Here since there were no choices to make, all the buttons were grayed out as if everything would be moving over in the merge. I'm also going to add back in the vitals on this one because otherwise I can't proceed and this family still needs more work.

Great to hear. I can stop holding my breath during every merge. Thanks!
