Is it possible to re-upload a memory without ruining tagged people?
For example, I might have an old photo that I've recently restored/enhanced using AI software and I just want to replace the existing photo without having to upload a new one with all the tagged people. It may sound trivial but for photos where there's a group of several tagged people it's quite a hassle.
Another example is where I use the Yad Vashem logo as portrait photos of individuals murdered during the Holocaust. I have since created a better looking logo that matches the color palette of FamilySearch and I simply want to reupload to replace the image without having to upload a new image and then having to go through updating the photos of all the deceased individuals.
Updating coats of arms for aristocratic ancestors is also another useful application of this in the same way I described the Yad Vashem logo for Holocaust victims.

I fear the answer here is almost certainly No, see answer to a similar question I asked last year: https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/162988/how-to-replace-a-memory-file-pdf

That's quite disappointing. Alan describes a hypothetical situation where if multiple people tag a memory uploaded by someone else it could create issues if the uploader replaces that memory, potentially invalidating other users' inputs.
My answer to his comment is why not allow memories to be replaced without restriction if only the uploader has been involved in tagging? It's an ease of use feature that would replace several steps of uploading, re-tagging, and deleting the old memory. In some cases, like the Yad Vashem logo (i.e. individual G7GX-5D3), I would have to go through updating dozens maybe hundreds of profiles and it's such a hassle.
If multiple users have been involved in tagging then I suggest that if a memory were to be replaced by the uploader that the replacement would be pending approval of all users who have been involved in tagging. There could be a timer (say 3-6 months) where if a majority (or 1 out of 2 users) do not explicitly decline a re-upload then that pending replacement would go through. The reason being to prevent inactive users from blocking reuploads.

Let's just check with the Memories moderator @AmberML1 that the situation hasn't changed - otherwise, she may be able to advise the best/quickest way of getting your suggestion looked at by the engineers.

Unfortunately, if you upload a new photo, you will need to re-add the necessary tags. Yes, it would be wonderful if we could make an easier process, but for now, this is your only recourse. I will, however, suggest this idea to our Engineers. Thanks for the Feedback!
