Why do records keep losing data that had been included previously?

I know this will go nowhere as it's not a new complaint. Records have been losing data that used to be included not so long ago. For instance, I just looked up a Wisconsin Marriage record (1973-1997) and had no estimated birth years for the couple, just ages. The estimates aren't crucial but they did give me direct information that I could quickly input into my records. Now I have to do the math myself which slows me down a tad.

Likewise, on Social Security NUMIDENT records, the actual zip code for last residence has disappeared in recent days. It still shows on the base SS Index but not the NUMIDENT, which now shows the last residence city, county, state but without the zip code. I use both so the NUMIDENT had been great for gathering detail. Now I have to find both records to make for one accurate entry into my records. Another big waste of time.

Finally, just for kicks, I'll mention once again (4th, 5th, . time), modern Wisconsin death records continue to show only a death year and often dreadful attempt at a location. In the now distant past, an actual DATE was provided with these records!
