Random images locked in otherwise accessible folders
I am experiencing images in some films that are locked even when surrounding images are available. There doesn't appear to be any rhyme or reason. These images were previously available.
For instance in this folder: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:3QSQ-G93N-T4F5?cat=703993&i=250&lang=en&mode=g
These are indexes of birth/marriage/death records for towns in Bari province, Italy from 1866-1915. Yet images 250, 255, 256, 264, 268, and 270 are locked (among others). Some of the locked images are just title pages with no genealogical information.
Similarly, in this folder: https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/3:1:S3HY-6D34-JXW?wc=MG3C-BZ9%3A351039801%2C351039802%2C351044301%26cc%3D2046915&cc=2046915&lang=en&i=0&mode=g
These are church marriage records from Camporeale, Palermo, Italy from 1790-1919. Random images in the collection are locked.
Not sure what is happening; if it has to do with the new catalog or the new viewer or what.

I've seen a few of those, too, Cousin Vinny. Sometimes a refresh will change a few of them. Sometimes accessing through Images will open up a few.
We've seen many Cook County, Illinois vital records with the lock symbol - apparently an inadvertent loss of viewing permissions.
Windows 10 and Chrome, both fully updated.@SerraNola could you take a look at this one? Thanks.

@Cousin Vinny I have also seen this problem popping up randomly in Italian records. I wondered if they were trying to do a partial restriction to the film and it got botched up. I will see if I can find someone with an answer and get back to you.

@Cousin Vinny I'm at my FSC this afternoon so thought I would take a look at your DGS. Still showing padlocks here, too, on both your examples.

@Cousin Vinny I showed your examples and others to engineers last week. They didn't have an answer but suggested what team to create a job ticket for. Any updates will be posted here.

I have a similar problem here:
The images that are accessible change randomly when refreshing, the ones that look available sometimes don't display, I get message "the image is unavailable for online viewing at this time".

Same problem here, and it is now August, any progress since the trouble ticket in March, and the communication with the Engineers noted on March 5th? Looks like it is across a multitude of films now. Database corruption issue getting worse?
Please send me a message if they ever get around to doing something!I am actually looking for the marriage of Francisco Marconcini to Carminia Foggi, their last Marriage Bann was 8 Feb 1872, and they had a son in Dec that year, who was legit at the time.
It was in Marti, Palaia, Pisa, Tuscany, Italy, even though as often is the case, Family Search does not have the correct place names. Eventually it became part of Montopoli Val d'Arno, though they have their own record set, Marti was not part of Montopoli, thus it is in Palaia records. I run into this issue quite frequently. Other areas the descriptions are quite erroneously incorrect in the details for the record set, some towns had multiple fraziones they belonged to, and the descriptions do not mention that, just lump them under one, thus one can't find the record, because they were part of another parrish that fell under a different town for Administration. These facts are substantiated by the 1841 Census records, I'm not sure who is making up all this stuff at FS…

@DougLeeper Let me first address your concerns regarding users’ inability to find records due to their inclusion with the town where the administration office was located. You are right that waypoint (bread crumbs) do not provide this information. Be aware that waypoints are being phased out by FamilySearch and are not being updated. The catalog description for this collection does list the frazioni whose records are included:
As for the issue of locked random images, we are as anxious as you to see it fixed. As you might have noticed it is not only random images but random groups of records (DGS). The issue is that DGS permission rights are not aligned with those of individual images and engineers, with higher access, can't detect this. Hopefully, they will determine the cause, and be able to identify affected DGS so we will not have to report them one at a time.
