During a merge -> 'Undo' no longer undoes
This started yesterday. During a merge, when I get to the 2nd review screen, I have options to choose Undo for items on the right. The action works but the Undone item is still attached to the post-merge profile.
undo ex: Other Information → Residences
undo ex: Family: Spouse and Children → Spouse
Choosing Undo will slide those to the left. That Residence or Spouse should not appear in the merged profile but they still do. Each unwanted item/person has to be manually deleted from the merged profile.
Tested with a Firefox fork. I downloaded/installed a different browser and got the same result.

I'd noticed that some items that I had dragged across to the right spontaneously reverted to the left when I clicked Attach. I thought it was an error with my method, but it would seem, when put together with your observation, that something has been altered in the internals and it is now being tested in the field.

Mods have mentioned they presently have fewer devs than they need. I can see where that will impact the speed at which things get addressed. I'll try not to bring up that there are a lot of coders out of work right now…
I admit to being a little strung-up about it. 80%-90% of the merges I'm doing are cleaning up after the click-farms, run by BYU Record Linking Labs. Anything that draws that out feels more grueling than it probably is.
If a mod would drop a note to acknowledge the issue, that'd help.

Any update on this? Asking because it is tripling the time I'm spending on merges - which is compounding the extra-extra-extra time I'm spending to fix BYU Linking Labs USCenusProject and Numident projects.
Stated differently: Most of my time (this week) is spent on resolving the endless BYULL messes. And the new merge challenge is tripling that burden - because I'm having to open up each profile manually to clean out the debris.
I know times is tight but I'd appreciate anything you could do.

Is there a timetable for fixing this? It adds some extra time to each of the millions of BYU LinkingLabs duplicates we're ironing out.
Thanks!

Just wondering if you've tried the Improved Merge Experience lab? I haven't, but the session on it at RootsTech was interesting. Might also explain, realistically, why a bug in the current version hasn't been fixed (perhaps also why it appeared in the first place, if a tweak was put in place to enable coexistence of the old and lab merge mechanisms).
Incidentally, are you still seeing new BYU-sourced duplicates? I was already planning to email them today (Sunday) to ask whether there have been any developments on the issues we raised in late 2024, will post about this on the long BYU RLL discussion thread (https://community.familysearch.org/en/discussion/164127/is-the-user-treebuilding-project-taking-the-tree-forward-or-wasting-time).

@MandyShaw1 I went and turned it on and found NewMerge has no feature to remove parents. It looks like folks in the feedback group are seeing the same thing.

Interestingly, during a (classic) merge, I got to the last stop and found my removed stuff wasn't removed. The interesting part is I went back, removed them again and it stuck that time.
