Can I set my indexing progress chart to the previous format

The new format in the indexing progress chart does not show how many records you have completed. It shows how many a day.

I preferred the old format as well. I think this must be some sort of programming glitch. Hopefully, they will resolve it soon.

Programmers should either beta test changes or spend a day at a FamilySearch center to see what patrons think about it. This would lessen the impact of their changes.

Agreed. I prefer the old format as well.  This daily number instead of a cumulative number is a step backwards. Please bring back the previous chart or upgrade this to show both the daily and the cumulative.

I wonder if FamilySearch programmers ever read the community comments.

Since there have been many threads and comments about this (probably pushing almost 200 comments), please read this comment from @MandyShaw1 yesterday.

    Mandy,

From the changes that have been made the past few years I would suspect that most engineering (Programers) regularly use the Family Search. Since they are located at the Lehi FamilySearch Center I think it would be great if they spent time with the Missionaries and patrons discussing the changes they make and how the user understands them.

I'd love that too but I, as an ordinary non-LDS user of FS, have zero power or influence. If you do, use it!

The community does not ask or know what users faith is. It is important that we use it so that those in charge will know what impact changes to FS has on the average user.

    @Gary Boyack

Unfortunately the Community software itself (in particular the search facility and the convoluted question asking mechanism) doesn't make it easy for users to get their voices heard.

It is very rare for the engineers to pop up on Community; communication is all via the moderators, who I gather are (entirely understandably) genealogists rather than IT systems specialists.

The Feedback tab that we are supposed to use to report specific data problems on the FS site is not that friendly either. It is never replied to.

Even the Labs mechanisms, which are very much better (genuinely collaborative), start with a beta system to be tweaked, rather than involving any sort of user group at the planning stage.

The feedback button, referenced to be on the left side of the page, is no longer there.

As stated by the Community Monitor, nothing on this page goes to the people who are in charge of updating or programming the changes. It is just a sounding board to make us feel better. Ha Ha!

@Gary Boyack If you flag a post for moderator attention it can then be notified to the relevant team by the moderator who is responsible for that particular area.

Who is the 'Community Monitor'? I haven't heard that term before.

Sorry! Moderator. I guess I need to keep my comments without being critical.

The indexing progress chart does not work. Knowing what I do each day does not show Progress. I am sure someone can figure out how to have three lines on the chart. Please give us back our PROGRESS.

There have been countless threads and comments on this manner (many here on the front page of this forum). Our mod, who has contacts with the dev team, @Ashlee C. was notified about a week ago and is aware of the issue.
