How to add a person to a family?
Hi, I finally found a record for Susan Elaine House, and I wanted to add her to the family of Dewey House (GPXR-CRJ) and Janie Bryant (GPXR-8DK), but it seems I added her to the family of Dewey's parents. How can I undo that and add her to the correct family?
And while I am here, it seems I can add a child, but I cannot delete one. How would I got about correcting such an error?

Hi @MikeMeier1. You will need to edit the relationship, removing the wrong parents and then replacing them with the correct ones. The same principal applies to children attached erroneously. Simply, remove the incorrect parent relationship.

I'm afraid I need a little more help than that. When I click to "Attach to Tree" I am taken to the screen shown below. Her parents are Janie and Dewey, but it seems I can only add them as a spouse or sibling.

Hi @MikeMeier1. The reason you aren't given the option appears to be because this person doesn't currently have a page of their own. As this record only contains a single person, you will need to first create a profile for Dewena so that this record can be attached to her.
First, try navigating to her father's profile page, linked below:
Then, scroll down until you see blue text that says +ADD CHILD. Click that and enter the child's information. After that, navigate back to this obituary and attach it to her.
You had also mentioned that you attached Susan Elaine House to the wrong family. Which person was she incorrectly attached to?
If you can find the incorrect father's profile page, like Dewey's above, scroll down to the 'Family Members' section. Then, right above where it says +ADD CHILD, there will be a pencil icon next to Susan's name. Click that and then click "REMOVE OR REPLACE". Select that you have reviewed the relationships and then click to replace the person with the correct parents.
I hope that helps you. Let us know if you still need help.

@MikeMeier1, I think you must be misinterpreting what you're seeing, because I don't see any sign of a Susan anywhere in Dewey's, Janie's, or Dewey's parents' families.
You are definitely misinterpreting the Source Linker screenshot: it's offering up your Recents list to match up to Dewena, not to any of Dewena's relatives — the index entry has no relationships. It's indexed as just Dewena as principal, and nobody else.
While it's possible to get Source Linker to do all sorts of things that aren't what it offers up on its own, this does not include creating profiles for people who are not indexed in the record you're trying to use. Source Linker works with index entries and index entries only, and it takes them absolutely literally.
In fact, Source Linker is not the right tool for creating new profiles. Yes, it can serve that purpose, under some circumstances, but that's not what it's primarily designed to do. Source Linker is for attaching index entries to the corresponding profiles. It's best to add profiles using one of the "Add" links on an existing profile in that person's immediate family.

Thank you, both. That helped. I added their children. (Sad story, two of their three children lived for less than a day.)
