this resulting from the latest update requires that …
"If you are using a VPN, disable it"
I do not understand why this would be a "security issue"
Being able to use a VPN server in Salt Lake City when I travel vastly improves my efficiency when I am contributing from a location with controlled internet speeds.

    I'm getting the same error. No way am I disabling my VPN for this. And i shouldn't have to play a minigame just to get into the site.

    I'm having the same problem. Since yesterday morning. I can only work in FS if I disable my VPN, which has worked flawlessly until yesterday. Why is no one in tech or any other employee addressing this issue? I just spoke to a very nice woman on the phone help line, but she had no answers. We need someone higher up the tech chain to address this.

    So annoying. We can't be the only three people that this is affecting.

    Got a new problem added to this garbage - about every hour today when I've been trying to use it, the screen freezes. I hit refresh and get the security check page. Then when I try to go back to my tree, it tells me I have to add a contact name to my user profile. Same profile I've been using for years, haven't changed a thing.

    Right? I am getting the "add contact name to my user profile" page, too. Then when I click on the link, it says that it can't take me to that page.

    I've been using this VPN to access FS for years with no problems.

    Do any Admin read these pages?

    Only to look for any dirty language we might use. I got yelled at for using a word that starts with d and rhymes with ham. Feels like getting a speeding ticket for going 56 in a 55.

    Went to use FS today and decided to log my issue.

    1:02pm - Opened FamilySearch, told to verify that I'm human.

    1:02pm - Clicked Sign in, told to verify that I'm human.

    1:03pm - Clicked Google so I could sign in, told to verify.

    Then did some work, using the Tree View.

    1:21pm - Tree view stopped allowing me to load branches. Hit refresh. Had to verify again. Screen loaded to "Missing Contact Name" screen.

    1:22pm - Came here to post this log. Trying to hold back the litany of foul language I'd like to use to describe whoever made this change to the site, as well as their parents and grandparents and any other ancestors they may have discovered.

    Giving up. Guess I'm not getting anything done today.
