I am indexing a phone book page with lots of identical names. One name has 38 instances !

Do each of these need to be indexed? or will 1 suffice?

Thanks.

I didn't actually go look, since you didn't give a batch ID to do so with easily, but as I recall, there are very specific instructions not to index identical names. If every indexing field is the same as the preceding entry or entries, skip that line.

If you have 38 John Smiths, you will index the first John Smith and if the other 37 are exactly the same, you will ignore them and go to the next unique name, ie John A Smith.
