A guest is asking about Contacts.   When you go to your photo in Family Tree, you see Settings, Family Groups, Contacts, Source Box.  This guest wants to know what Contacts does for her.  Any one familiar with Contacts here.

I just checked mine, and Áine is the only person listed. I have no memory of how she got there.

Ah! Vague glimmers: I think you add a person to that list by finding a contribution from him/her somewhere in the Tree, clicking the username, and choosing "Add Contact" on the popup.

What it does is create a shortcut for initiating a chat with that person. I am not aware of any other use for it.

Thanks Julia. That all makes sense. I've searched for some document that might say something about this, but so far I have found none.

@Julia Szent-Györgyi You added me when we first learned about the option to test how it worked. This thread:

You can also add contacts from the Relatives at RootsTech feature. This then allows you to continue to communicate after the event closes.

Amy Archibald, how do I check this list to see if I am doing it correctly. I have an overwhelming list of prospects that show in my relationship.

@Richard Douglass , you can always review your Contacts list by clicking on your name in the upper right corner if the page when you are signed in to FamilySearch. Then choose "Contacts' from the drop down list that appears.

BTW, if you see anyone on your contact list that you no longer want to retain as a contact, you can click on that name, then in the pop-up that appears, choose "Remove Contact".
