More records from the island of Newfoundland would be appreciated. Prior to 1949, Newfoundland was a British colony. It's hard to find certain records online, even on Family Search, because of the lack of officials sent to Newfoundland by Britain to properly document births, baptisms/christenings, marriages and deaths. Thank you.

Im really taken aback by some of the rudeness in this comment section that’s mindlessly tossed to the people who make all this possible. What happened to basic kindness or just manners in general? I have used FamilySearch for so many years that I don’t know how many. It’s been an incredible resource. To those behind making all this FREE information possible, thank you. Thank you for your knowledge and time in this Herculean effort that serves everyone. I appreciate all of you.

Thanks for your recommendation! FamilySearch strives to help digitize records from all around the world so you can find the ones you need. Aside from keeping an eye on these update posts, don’t forget that you can also check the records FamilySearch already has by looking here:
- Historical Image Viewer: Shows recently added images from all around the world, even before they are indexed. Can browse by location.
- General Search: Shows the indexed records that are searchable by name.
- Record Hints are also another great way to find out about new records that might match your ancestors’ information. Learn more about them here.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart. So happy to see these new records come forth at last. I have been doing genealogy for 64 years. It is so much better now, and free is best of all.
