When in the Verify Places screen, what is the function of box below " Standard Places ?" line?

I can click on the box, containing the same information that is in the "yellow box", then the outline of the box becomes blue. I can then alter the information in this blue outlined box.

What is the function of this blue outlined box?

@Finley, Wilbert Keith Thanks for your question. I'm guessing that you are looking at something like this:

The information in the yellow box contains the dates and place originally entered by the user. It was not standardized by them.

The information in the Standardized Places box starts at the place entered by the user. This may or may not pull up a list of standardized places. Sometimes you will need to edit this information to help you find the right place.

The information below that (by the red arrow) is a list of standardized places that you can link this record to. You will decide which place the record took place in and click on it. This changes the screen to look like this:

In this screen, you can see the place originally entered by the user in yellow.

The new standardized place you picked out is in blue.

If you are satisfied this is the right place click "Next." If you think you made a mistake, click "Undo."

    Does this answer your question?
