Validating Family Search addition

Family Search has put Joseph Clark, who was married at Canterbury, CT., 1761 to Abigail Johnson, as the son of John and Ann Clark of Owston, Lincolnshire, England. Their record claims Joseph was christened 1745 in England. I see no connections on Joseph's end stating place of birth, immigration or parents and on John's side other than they have a son named Joseph. Anything that ties them together other than a name?

Can you provide the Family Tree profile IDs for these individuals so that Community members can investigate for you, please.

I wasn't expecting a response, at least so soon. I imagine there is much to do. Thank you for your attention

FYI - This Community is primarily users of the website, rather than FamilySearch staff.

The FamilySearch tree is built by users - not by FamilySearch staff. If the profile shows "FamilySearch" as a contributor, that usually just means that the profile existed on one of the previous platforms.

Looking at John Clark LHNT-17W, the profile has been built by several different contributors, including yourself in 2021. The changelog shows the names of those active on any profile:

    https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/LHNT-17W

The profile of Joseph Clark 2739-LRH has many contributors as well: https://www.familysearch.org/tree/person/changelog/2739-LRH

You can correspond with any contributor, by private message, by clicking on the username. Not everyone responds; not everyone is still active. But, the contributors would/should know more than those of us who are active here in the community.

Best of luck with the search!

Having twigged that Abigail is my 2C7R (my grandmother having been a Cleaveland), I have done some poking around and some tweaks to Joseph's and Abigail's profiles, including adding a note explaining why I don't believe either of the two current possible parentages for Joseph, and also giving them a couple more daughters about whom I am reasonably confident.

I am continuing to analyse the few possible other Joseph Clark(e)s to see what pops up. One action I did take was to restore the long-since-incorrectly-merged profile of the one born in Boston on 22 December 1740.

I hope you don't disagree with any of this!

Ms. Mandy, does this mean that you just randomly encountered a cousin on here this week? 😀

Indeed it does - seeing that Abigail's mother was a Cleaveland I hit View Relationship and there it was!
