Help using the correction options that are available for indexed records

Where can I get help with using the correction options that are available for indexed records? There are multiple errors with names in one record. The system offers editing options and I'm not sure that I'm doing things correctly - I would hate to compound the error(s) in the record.

@LindaTaepan Here is one Help Article. If you have some specific questions or problems you can try clicking on "Get More Help" in the quick links on the right side of this page. Use key words to retrieve articles pertaining to your questions. If you still need help, post your questions here.
Please keep in mind that when editing in both the old and new image viewers you may encounter things that should work, but don't. You can report those errors here, too.

There's a short video (with no transcript, alas) in the Help Center, but it mostly talks about how to get to the edit tool, not how to actually use it. There's not much detail in the recent article on correcting one's own corrections, either. The article about the old editor — now identified as the process for "partially-editable" indexes — is slightly more informative, but that tool is much simpler.
I do not understand why the index editor does not have a Community group, especially given the major problems that have plagued it from the beginning, and the complexities of using it for anything more than fixing a few letters in a name. I think I know why there's no detailed Help Center article, though: the details keep changing as the programmers try to fix things.
