US, Ohio-Naturalization Records, 1848-1966 [Part B] [MPQD-GGT]
I understand combining two documents for the same person on the same image, but not what the rules are for this project if there are, for example, six images each with only one document within one batch. In the last batch I tried, three images were about one person while three images were about another person. I indexed six images and did not combine any because they were separate. BTW I am not allowed to view links people attach, FS blocks access.

If there are different documents on different images; ie John Smith has his COA, DEC and PET on Images 1, 2, and 3, they are to be indexed separately as they are different steps of the naturalization process.

That makes sense. But what if one of the three documents is an affidavit, deposition, or witness statement? Would it be marked as nothing to index and any pertinent details added to the main document index?

You will also index them. From the pop-up box
In this naturalization project all documents pertaining to the naturalization process should be indexed. Please review the project instructions for how to index these records.
Anything that involves witnesses is also a part of the naturalization process. Witnesses tell the court that the applicant is a good person and will uphold the Constitution. Do not index the witness, just the applicant and any other information the image asks for.1 -
The project directions consistently refer to combining info if docs are on the SAME IMAGE, not SAME BATCH. However, the help info under Record Day confuses the issue by referring to batches, toward the end…
