How do I find records from Pakistan or Bangladesh?
I have a friend who was just baptized that's from Bangladesh. We want to do his family tree, but we've found that it's close to impossible. We've searched through all the search engines that Family search, ancestry, Find My Past, etc have gone through, and it's close to nothing. So I have a few questions;
1. Does family search have any records from Pakistan, Islam, or Bangladesh?
2. In Bengali culture, they don't have a consistent family name. Are there any other ways to find people without the shared surname?
Any research help about the culture would be amazing.

@Riley Mae You may want to join the Asia Research Group. There are links to resources in the group's homepage, as well as other users who are researching in Asian countries that might be able to help you.
You can also check out FamilySearch's Wiki. Here's the link to the Wiki page about Pakistan Genealogy:
Click on the links on the right side of the page under "Pakistan Wiki topics" to find links to collections you can search.

@Riley Mae Many records in the vast collections at FamilySearch cannot be retrieved with a search engine. If you provide a date range and whatever place names are known we can help you discover what records, if any are available. It would also be extremely helpful to follow the advice of Ashlee C and learn what you can about how to research in that part of the world.

@Riley Mae You could look at the FIBIS Fibiwiki page Indian
https://wiki.fibis.org/w/Indian
However, reading that link, there does not seem to be much available.
