FamilySearch Catalog Updates
The FamilySearch Catalog has been a well-worn and loved system that handles over 5 million searches a week. Because it’s on expired technology, FamilySearch hasn’t been able to add new content for more than two years. We’ve been making critical upgrades behind the scenes and to the web pages so that the FamilySearch Catalog will be around for many more years.
Where possible, we’ve tried to keep the FamilySearch Catalog operating like the old one. However, some differences with the sorting and filtering of search results were unavoidable. Before these changes go live, we’d like you to give you a first look. Click on this link https://beta.familysearch.org/search/catalog. You will need to sign in with your FamilySearch account. Let us know how the new system impacts your search. To share your feedback, go to the Catalog Community Group by clicking HERE. Because it is a beta environment, you won’t be able to access the actual microfilm or digital images when you click on the camera or film icons.
Thank you for your patience as we work through this process together. We’re excited to bring you two additional years of data in the new FamilySearch Catalog!
