Seeking assistance: Search in the Salt Lake city library
I'm on a family journey back in time and have come to a puzzle. My great great grandparents lived in Idaho 1889-1894. Unfortunatly my great great grandmother Mariane died during labor in 1894 leaving my great great grandfather alone with four children - Viderikke, Ane, Elias and an to me unknown child nicknamed Merri in a letter written in 1893 by Mariane to her mother back in Denmark.
Searching in Familysearch and myheritage I have come by information of Ellen Marie who I belive is Merri. She was born 1892 and died 1898.
I really wish to know more about her and the families time in America.
Since I live in Denmark I can not search the Salt Lake city library myself. That's why I hope some kind person will help me out with checking this in the catalogue at FamilySearch Library in Salt Lake City.
The collection is entitled Sealings for the dead, couples and children (includes some living spouses and children), 1944-1970; heir index, 1944-1972, 1944-1972”.
The record im looking for dates from 1953
Hope someone can help me.

@Louise5488 There are over 20 films for the year 1953 in that collection:
Perhaps we could help with research in Idaho and Utah if you have more details of where they lived.

I have the following information:
Christian Hansen and Mariane (born Terkelsen) arrived in America 1889. They probably lived near Blue Creek just outside Couer d'Arlene. I have letters from 1893 and 1894 sent from them to Marianes mother back in Denmark. They mention having a small stock of animals. They also mention an Anton and on the last letter Anton Sorenson's letterhead is on top. I have found him and another danish man (Fredrik Hansen / Fred Hansen) on census records at Wolf Creek lodge close to Blue Creek and Couer d'Arlene.
Unfortunatly the census from 1890 which might have included Christian and Mariane is incomplete and as far as I know there are no birth records from Idaho back in 1892 which would be when Ellen Marie Hansen was born.
Hope this information can help out solve this.

@Louise5488 Naturalization papers can be found in this collection: Idaho County Naturalizations. Sorry, they do not contain any family information.
We'll keep looking!
