Seeking Clarification on Maternal Lineage for My 2nd Great-Grandmother

I am currently grappling with the challenge of verifying the maternal lineage of my second great-grandmother, Jacoba Kesonk.

According to my family history, Jacoba was reportedly raised by David Daniel Kesonk, her stepfather, and I am uncertain about her biological father. She was married to Frans Henry/Hendrik Frances, and based on their marriage record, I estimate her birth year to be around 1895. Frans was born on 9 November 1890 in Riversdale, Cape Colony, South Africa, and passed away on 19 April 1964 in Riversdale, Cape Province, South Africa. I believe Jacoba had children with him and possibly another man.

My main query revolves around confirming if Maria Magdalina (Matompa/Matomba) Kesonk was indeed Jacoba's mother. Maria Magdalina was born circa 1881 in Cape Colony, South Africa, and died on 22 February 1952 in Riversdale, Cape Province, South Africa. I think that Maria Magdalina's mother was Magdalena Maria (Saaiman/Saayman) Matompa/Matomba, born around 1884 and passed away on 22 December 1904 in Riversdale, Cape Colony, South Africa.

Any guidance, records, or insights you could provide to help verify these connections would be immensely appreciated.

Thanks.

    Hi @Tristan9881

You may want to post in the Africa Research group where someone with research experience in the region can be of more help.

Best of luck with the search.

DNA tests may also give you some answers, but I don't know what testing company would have the best data set for your question.
